Though I’m not hugely in favour of introducing gun-type toys into my house, I made an exception for the X Shot Rapid Fire because it encourages the “extermination” of my greatest foe… bugs!
Operating the accompanying floor pedal with your foot, the affixed bug - fitted with aerodynamically designed propeller - will be sent spiralling into the air as your foot comes down. Much like clay pigeon shooting, this set up functions in the same way, encouraging you to watch the flying bug, aim and shoot it out of the sky with one of your foam bullets.
The X Shot comes with a long cartridge with space for 10 foam bullets. The cartridge is Mum-friendly - seriously even I had no problem figuring out how to load it and install it into the gun. Needless to say, those critters don’t stand a chance against the power of the X Shot Rapid Fire.
If your girls or boys love their target-practice toys then this is the one for you. Recommended for kids aged 8+, the bullets should only be aimed at their creepy crawly nemeses as their impact is rather sharp to say the least.
The X Shot Rapid Fire from Zuru Toys (RRP $14.99) is available from Target.
