Who loves jumping up and down in muddy puddles?! That’s right, Peppa Pig! Everyone’s favourite TV piggy is hitting the big screen on 2 May with brand new episodes in a full length feature film as she celebrates 15 years of small screen domination.
Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun incorporates video shorts of real kids interacting with Peppa and the rest of the animated cast as they get involved with all the fun. The kids on screen elicited much audience participation too as they asked questions and invited them to get up and join them as they jumped in muddy puddles. From singing the Bing Bong song on a bus trip to pointing out and copying the animals you find at the zoo; the Festival of Fun is a wonderful reinforcement of early learning.
Parents too will laugh and relate to the scenarios Mummy and Daddy Pig find themselves in, from feeling the pressure to buy their kids a pet to making their first foray into eating out with kids in tow and being left with all the clearing up once the fun has been done.
Even Mr Potato, or Super Potato, makes an appearance in a couple of these new episodes along with brand new characters as the Peppa writers delve deeper into the animal kingdom with Miss Badger, Mrs Corgi and Mr Stallion adding some much needed variety to the wonderful stories created by Neville Astley, Mark Baker and Phil Davies.
Pizza making, a petting zoo, a Glastonbury-style children’s festival, historical re-enactments, fruit picking and so much more colour the world of Peppa, George and their friends and family. Fans of the show will love this compilation, especially the hilarious retrospective that occurs when Peppa and her family take a trip to TV Land!
So make a date with Peppa Pig for the Festival of Fun and make your children’s first cinema experience one to remember!
